FAQs

HOW MUCH WILL I PAY?

If you are using insurance benefits, rates & fees vary based on your health plan. You may only be responsible for a copayment, coinsurance, or deductible for your counseling sessions. Our office will verify your benefits and let you know your patient responsibility prior to scheduling your intake.

If you are paying out-of-pocket the rates depend on what service you are using. Specialized services (i.e. marriage counseling, EMDR, trauma therapy) are at a higher rate due to the therapist's specialized training.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

OceanVista Counseling Associates participates in several major insurances. Not all counselors are in all networks, however, we have counselors in-network with many Aetna, Cigna, Florida Health Care Plans, Oscar, and United Healthcare/UBH plans. If you would like to use EAP benefits, please contact our office at (386) 449-8600 to see if we are able to take your EAP. If we are not in-network with your insurance plan we will provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance if your plan allows for reimbursement.

HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

To make an appointment, simply call our office at (386) 449-8600 or fill out our online contact form. If we can provide the service that you are looking for, we will verify your benefits and then get you scheduled.

WHERE IS YOUR OFFICE?

As of August 1, 2023, we will be located conveniently off of I-95 exit 268 on Granada Blvd. The address is 1275 W Granada Blvd, 6A, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. This office is across the street from Starbucks, Aldi and Chipotle. We are on the same side of the street and just east of Zaxby's.

HOW LONG IS A COUNSELING SESSION?

Generally, sessions are 55-60 minutes. If you are paying out-of-pocket or using your commercial insurance, you will have a 60-minute session. If you are using EAP benefits your appointment will be 45 minutes.

WHO DO YOUR COUNSELORS WORK WITH?

Our counselors treat individuals ages 13 and over. Our counselors have experience treating persons with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, grief, and loss as well as other concerns. Each therapist may specialize in something different, but all are qualified to treat common concerns.

We do offer couples/marriage counseling in addition to individual therapy.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Cancellations/missed appointments will be subject to a charge of $50.00 if notice is not received a minimum of 24-hours in advance. Advance notice is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and the appointment time is being held exclusively for you. This fee is due immediately & future sessions will not be scheduled until the fee is paid in full. Insurances will not pay for missed or canceled appointments.  If you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time. If you are more than 10 minutes late to a session we will reschedule your session for a time that you can be present for the full session.
